Member Verification Program (MVP)

Showcasing Your Commitment to Excellence

MVP Logo_0811Members have the exclusive opportunity to differentiate themselves by participating in the NTEA Member Verification Program (MVP). Since its launch in May 2005, the MVP has recognized hundreds of distributors, manufacturers and upfitters for successfully implementing specified business standards and processes, and for taking the necessary steps to comply with applicable government regulations. Suppliers and upfitters that have achieved MVP status are identifiable to fleet managers and truck dealers as having achieved a higher commitment to excellence by their effective use of safety and quality standards.

Endorsed by NAFA Fleet Management Association

NAFA Logo_0811NAFA has recognized the value of the NTEA MVP and has officially endorsed the program for the betterment of the industry.  The NTEA  MVP  provides a visible designation for truck equipment manufacturers and distributors that have implemented specific business and quality standards and process, and have taken significant steps to comply with certain applicable federal regulations.

Attention New MVP Applicants and Renewals

In keeping with the NTEA’s goal to continuously increase the value of the MVP, the Association periodically expands program standards to include more stringent requirements. Every MVP member must provide documentation of these upgraded criteria as their status comes up for renewal (every three years). This ensures MVP businesses continuously strive to maintain a commitment to professionalism, industry knowledge and high performance standards.

Effective July 1, 2011, the NTEA is expanding Program standards to include additional criteria; modifications to two existing criteria have also been made. The first criterion addition requires companies to provide documentation of a written or published Environmental or Sustainability Policy. The second new criterion requires companies to have written and documented customer Post-sale Follow-up Processes. In addition, the Quality Assurance Program criterion will become required, and the required Certified Shop Employees criterion will increase from 10% to 20% in order to meet MVP status.

MVP Application Information

Distributor and Manufacturer members are asked to complete an Application Form and attach required documentation. There is no application fee involved. After reviewing applications and documentation, the NTEA will notify companies that achieve MVP status. MVP companies will be announced on a quarterly basis (Jan. 1, April 1, July 1 and Oct. 1) in a variety of electronic and print communications, including a press release to key trade media.

The NTEA completely underwrites the cost of this important business tool with the sole purpose of building the core competencies of its Distributor and Manufacturer members. Please review the MVP Criteria. We look forward to recognizing your firm as part of the MVP!
